In his years of being an expert in fitness, Roger Wolfson is very much aware that one of the biggest points of discouragement in regular exercise is the physical strain that comes with doing it. In this blog, he suggests some hobbies that keep you fit without your noticing much of the strain.

Hiking

When you’re out hiking, you are exposed to a lot of interesting things. Being interested in your environment distracts you from feeling that your body is already being strained. In fact, hiking is not really about exercise, but the leisurely experience of being one with nature. Most people who regularly hike have well-developed muscles in their body, and they have good blood circulation, too, shares Roger Wolfson. And when they get home after a hike, they look forward to a good night’s sleep, which is good for the body as well!

Dancing

If you’re quite the music lover, you shouldn’t have any problems getting up and giving in to the beat. Dancing is one of the best examples of exercising without having to experience much of the strain. It doesn’t even have to be the kind of hard pounding and intense type of dancing that you need to get into. There are a lot of light dances out there that you can search on the internet. As Roger Wolfson suggests, go for one that you really like, and you’ll surely burn calories.

House chores

Doing chores at home can really give you much-needed exercise. If you clean your house once a week, make it twice a week and see how things will change for you. Working in your garage, doing the laundry, and even gardening can boost your system significantly. The good thing about this is that you’ll also be seeing improvements in your home as you work.

The best motivational cues to tell yourself when fitness gets tough

Roger Wolfson is the first to recognize that many false start and failures in weight loss can be attributed to a lack in mental toughness, more than the difficulty of undergoing physical challenges. Here are some motivational cues you can tell yourself when the going gets too tough in your fitness plan. 1. 'Baby steps.' Sometimes you get to a frustration point that makes you feel exhausted just by looking at what seems to be the very daunting task of shedding off 20 or 30 pounds. "Baby steps" is a reminder to take things easy at a gradual pace. Progress can be achieved one step at a time. As Roger Wolfson suggests, even when the steps seem small, remind yourself that you get closer to your goal every time you advance. 2. 'Just one more.' There is such a thing as a saturation point. Why weight training is important

Image source: pinterest.com While there are different goals for a fit and healthy lifestyle, physical educator Roger Wolfson believes that to boost overall health and fitness levels, people have to take a holistic approach. This means incorporating different types of training and combining them with proper nutrition. One of these types of training is weight training. Weight training is part of the program which some of the healthiest people on Earth such as pro athletes and fitness gurus use. While Roger Wolfson mentions that cardio workouts are great at building endurance, as well as promoting blood and oxygen circulation throughout the body, he says that weight training does all of those as well, and more. Weight training helps build muscles, which are great for burning fat.
